Aretha Franklin ill, cancels concerts ahead of September retirement

Aretha Franklin plans to retire after her final album that drops in September. But the queen recently canceled her upcoming concert in Massachusetts due to ill health. Not only did she cancel her Massachusetts show but she has also called off appearances in Chicago & Toronto.

According to reports she said;

“Due to doctors’ orders I will have to cancel a few concerts for the next month or so,” Franklin, 74, said in a statement as reported by Associated Press.

The 18-time Grammy winner has also canceled two shows at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall including the “Tony Bennett Celebrates 90” on Sept. 15 and a solo headlining gig on Sept. 23.
