The Weeknd’s Grammy After-Party Shut Down by Police

A party celebrating The Weeknd’s birthday and double Grammy win was cut short late Monday night. Police pulled the plug after neighbors complained of noise. The bash was held by GQ at a private residence in Beverly Hills. No one was arrested or charged.

TMZ spills the tea;

GQ hosted the bash in a Bev Hills mansion to toast The Weeknd’s 2 Grammy wins and his birthday, and the party — about 1,000 strong — was rolling along until 1 AM. Law enforcement sources tell us multiple neighbors had enough and called police to complain about loud music and crowd noise.

We’re told LAPD officers showed up around 1:30 AM, and we’re guessing Weeknd drew the short straw since he spoke to the officers. It took police about 3 hours to clear all the fabulously dressed guests — chicks in high heels move very slowly downhill.

The Weeknd SUED For STEALING “The Hills”

The Weeknd’s ending of 2015 is a mess because he is being hit with a lawsuit for allegedly STEALING the beat of his hit track, “The Hills.” Cutting Edge Music that claims “The Hills” contains a baseline featured in the score of a movie called, “The Machine.” C.E.M. own’s the licensing rights and NEVER gave The Weekend permission to use it on “The Hills.”

The Weeknd’s own producer ADMITTED to the theft of the song in a tweet back in March. He tweeted how impressed he was with the musical composition and said, “it might make it 2 the Weeknd next album.” Soon after the tweet, “The Hills” made it’s way to our ears.

So far, the singer has NOT made any public statements about his latest legal woes…

The Weekend Avoids Jail Time

The Weeknd will not serve any jail time because he pleaded no contest for punching a cop in Las Vegas back in January.

TMZ spills the tea;

The singer entered his plea in a Vegas court Wednesday for the January arrest. He was ordered to pay $1,000 to an injured cop fund, complete anger management and an alcohol evaluation. He’ll also have to complete 50 hours of community service. The judge is letting him do the hours at a non-profit group in his native Canada.

TMZ broke the story … The Weeknd was arrested after punching a cop in the head during a fight at the Cromwell Hotel.

If he meets all requirements, including staying out of any new trouble, the case will be dismissed.
